Geonosian Fighter 4478

The Geonosian Fighter has a star fighter from the Battle of Geonosis, one of the first of many battles that made up the Clone Wars. This LEGO set is a great, small set with two main pieces, the ship and a mounted turbo laser turret. It also comes with four unique mini figures. On the Fighter, you will find such unique features as a swiveling engine in back, and also lasers in front on ball bearings. The Turbo Laser Turret is not an overly unique piece, but it makes a nice addition to the set as a whole. Though this ship did not have a large role in the clone wars, the unique figures, and the versatility of the lasers and engine on the ship make this a must have LEGO set.

The Mini figures in this LEGO set are truly spectacular. You get four mini figures, including two battle droids, and two Geonosians: one with wings, and one without wings. I love the wings, and they help to make the Geonosians truly unique. Unfortunately, only one LEGO mini figure comes with wings. Though the figures are a tight fit in the cockpit, it is always great to see some completely unique figures in a LEGO set. You also get 3 blasters to round out your mini figures, allowing the one without the weapon to man the turbo laser, or to pilot the ship.

The Battle of Geonosis was the first, epic conflict in the clone wars, where over 200 Jedi come to the planet of Geonosis to rescue Obi Wan Kenobi, and investigate the fact that an army of droids was being mass produced on Geonosis. This LEGO set truly captures the battle by not only featuring the Geonosians and their Battle Droids, but also lets you fight the battle on the ground or in the sky. Jedi Starfighters went head to head with these Fighters in a space conflict like no others, with laser turrets pounding the Jedi from the ground. Recreate that epic battle with this LEGO set, and buy multiples if you want to make a diorama that truly represents the battle.
