Jango Fett's Slave I

“She’s a Firespray Pursuit Special…one of six prototypes manufactured for the prison. She’s the last of her kind now.” Jango Fett

“The craft is unusual, because it flies upright, with the pilot standing at the vehicle’s controls.” General Carlist Rieekan

Star Wars aficionados know why the Firespray Pursuit Special is referred to as the last of her kind – Jango Fett destroyed the five other Firespray vessels on the asteroid planet Oovo IV. Jango Fett later named the ship Slave 1, improving and modifying the vessel to suit his needs. Slave 1 possessed an impressive array of weaponry including twin blaster cannons, two projectile launchers, a naval minelayer, and dummy proton torpedoes.
LEGO Star Wars fans were thrilled when LEGO announced the release of Jango Fett’s Slave 1. Everyone agrees that this ship is a big improvement over the Boba Fett Slave 1, bigger, more impressive looking, and the colors more closely match the movie version of the ship.

The LEGO set contains 358 LEGO pieces which include minifigures of Jango and his unaltered clone/son Boba, rotating wings and cockpit, and a prison compartment. That’s just the beginning. Throw in two blaster cannons, missiles, and a bomb compartment and you have an unbeatable vehicle. It’s sleek and stays true to the movie version. Although it can be a bit difficult to grip, the completed toy is great fun to play with or makes an impressive showpiece. The black stabilizer guards are a bit fragile and tend to fall off easily, but that seems a minor complaint for such an impressive piece.

Fans are pleased with the minifigures of Jango and Boba. Jango Fett is equipped with a jetpack and silver helmet with black and blue markings. The head rotates allowing a player to use the piece in armor or without armor. He also has a hairpiece, which can be stored aboard the Slave 1. Boba is less impressive. His legs are very short though the overall coloring of the figure is very nice. He also comes with a wig.

Jango Fett’s Slave 1 7153 is currently priced at $327.99 new on Amazon. E-Bay has a few sets offered for a third of the Amazon price. At least, that’s where the bidding starts; it’s hard to tell what the final price will be because collectors are very enthusiastic about this set, particularly the minifigures of Jango Fett and Boba Fett.
