AAT 7155
The Armored Attack Tank is from Star Wars Episode I, the fourth movie in the series, but the first prequel. This particular piece is from the attack on Naboo, where the tank was used to launch an offensive against the Queen and her Gungan allies. The set includes all of the Lego pieces needed to build the Armored Attack Tank (AAT). The tank is equipped with six energy shell launchers, and five laser guns. This includes the primary laser that was shown in the film devastating the enemy. The trade federation was fed up with the Queen of Naboo interfering with their plans for economic dominance, so they unleashed the Armored Attack Tank and its compliment of two bendable droids with binoculars and blasters.
The Armored Attack Tank, moving across the plains and tundra of Naboo, lobbed its energy shells with one of its six launchers to destroy hardened enemy targets such as forts and trenches. It fired its laser to blast troops to oblivion. The enemy flees for cover when the Tank hovers across the horizon. A fearsome vehicle, the heavily armored hull can be butterflied open to provide stability or closed to provide aerodynamic maneuverability, which was how it was presented in the movie. This option opens up other possibilities for use, since you can now plant several of these on the battlefield with the butterfly option, and reenact the movie with a different outcome. This time the Trade Federation will not be stopped when a young Anakin Skywalker accidentally flies into the control ship and blasts it out of the sky. This time, the Armored Attack Tank will hover into the capital city on Naboo, and remove the queen forcefully. Leaving Anakin and R2D2 in the hangar and the queen twiddling her thumbs in understanding when she sees the formidable tank that defeated her forces.
The AAT 7155 is an excellent toy, and the perfect compliment to any collection. An Armored Attack Tank would certainly have helped in modern history, though I would not want to be on the opposing side against such a battle-ready vehicle. Once again, it includes all necessary Lego pieces to build the Armored Attack Tank, and includes two bendable battle droids (the beige ones), one with binoculars, the other with a blaster.
