This Lego set is of a standard Naboo N-1 fighter made famous in Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace as the defenders of the planet of Naboo. The gleaming chrome and smooth aerodynamic design of Naboo spacecraft is shown exquisitely in this 174 piece Lego set. These spacecraft are used throughout Episode 1 to escort Naboo starships and Queen Amidala as part of the Queen's Honor Guard.

Two N-1s fight off many bounty hunters to protect a Naboo cruiser carrying the Queen. N-1s of Bravo Squadron led by Ric Olié also fight against the Trade Federation in The Battle of Naboo. The ship has one pilot and a Astromech Droid like R2. The N-1 had twin laser cannons and proton torpedo launchers that help it protect Naboo Cruisers from enemies like bounty hunters and droid starfighters. In the scene recreated in this set Anakin pilots one as a child into the docking bay of a Droid Control Ship and escapes to safety past some Trade Federation droids and aides Bravo Squadron in the destruction of a Trade Federation Droid Control Ship that helps win the Battle of the Naboo for the Republic.

This set features a very realistic looking design of the Naboo fighter. Also included are 2 Trade Federation Battle Droids with blaster rifles along with a droid vehicle, young Anakin Skywalker as the pilot and R2-D2 riding faithfully along with his master. At only 174 pieces it is not a large set but it provides an accurate replica of the Naboo Fighter and some great figures central to the main plot line of the Star Wars saga.

This is a great set for collectors or kids alike. You may even want more than one as many people will want multiple pieces of all the figures in this set. The Naboo fighter when combined with other sets can make for endless space battles in the Star Wars universe. From protecting the Queen to epic space battles the N-1 Starfighter became an essential part of the Star Wars story and is something every collector, kid, and Star Wars fan should own.
